Viola Reynolds Dick (1902-1996)

SAVANNAH, Mo. – Viola Dick, 93, Savannah, formerly of St. Joseph, died Thursday, July 4, 1996, at an area health-care center.

Born Aug. 13, 1902, in Amazonia, Mo., Mrs. Dick lived most of her life in Forbes and St. Joseph before moving to Savannah in 1988.

She was a homemaker and member of United Methodist Church, Amazonia.

On Feb. 21, 1923, she married William Dick. He died in 1965.

Mrs. Dick also was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lizzie Reynolds; her stepmother, Pearl Reynolds; a son, Paul W. Dick; a daughter, Lela E. Bisig; three brothers, Alva, Claudy and Dale Reynolds; a sister, Arlena Kaullen; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.  

Surviving: two sons, Richard E., Savannah, and Raymond E., St. Joseph; a daughter, Vivian Wertin, St. Joseph; two brothers, Frank J. and Lee Reynolds Sr., both of Savannah; three sisters, Genevia Pierson and Pearl Harboid, both of St. Joseph, and Edna Burris, Rogers, Ark.; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Service: 1 p.m. Monday, Breit & Hawkins Funeral Home, Savannah. Burial: Savannah, Mo. Cemetery. Visitation: after 4 p.m. today, at Breit & Hawkins Funeral Home, Savannah, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
