1930 – Obituary for John Wesley ReynoldsJohn Wesley Reynolds was born at Maryville January 15, 1861. He has spent most of his life in or around Amazonia. He was twice married. There are two children from marriage the first marriage, namely, Alva Reynolds of Rushville and Mrs. Ola [sic] Dick of Forbes. The second marriage was entered into September 23, 1907 and to this union eight children were born, one of these has already passed beyond. The other seven are: Franklin Reynolds, Mrs. Geneva Mace, Arlena, Lee, Dale, Edna and Pearl, all of Amazonia. These nine children together with the bereaved widow and seven grandchildren mourn the loss of husband and father. He also leaves one brother, Jesse Reynolds of Oregon, and one sister, Mrs. Laura Llewelyn of Ontario, Calif. During the last winter his health was somewhat failing, but he kept on with work. On Wednesday evening while out driving along the country road in company with his son Franklin he met with an automobile accident which caused his death. He died May 21, was buried in the Amazonia cemetery May 24, 1930. The number of his days were 69 years, 4 months and 6 days.
