Cliff Church Aug 9, 1997 My name is Orin Church, and I'm writing to you all the way from Washington state. I am very happy to find your wonderful web site. I am very interested in geneology and was hoping you might be able to refer me to any sources of same in Taney County. A little background: My late father's family is from Taney County, specifically Forsyth. He was a "Church", and his paternal family lived in a little village called "Pinetop" near the Harrison, Arkansas road. His maternal side was Ray/Prather, from Forsyth. My dad died in 1995. I lost his mother, my grandmother, in 1995 also. She was 93 and was first cousin to Doug Mahnkey. Her name was Lucy Pina Prather. My Great-Great Grandfathers, respectively, were Alonzo Prather (of Bald Knobber fame) and Jasper Ray. My last visit to Forsyth was in 1986 for the annual J.N. Ray reunion. In any event, I certainly would be very appreciative if you could assist me in any way possible. My internet address is: email@example.com.Thank you very much. Orin C. Church Seattle, Wa.

I am searching for an Ozy/Ozzie Briles REED and family. He is supposed to have died in 1890 in Brandlyville, Taney County, MO. He is said to have had three wives, Anna M. KEYES, Elizabeth KOONTZ, and Lucy Ann REED. Ozy is thought to have had a son by Lucy named Enos J. REED, born 1862 in Arkansas. I would appreciate any info that you could share with me, or help given. Thank-you

Would like to find the name of first husband of Rutha DAVIS and father of her children Julia, Elizabeth and Jeffre. She married her second husband MathewMCDADE in Marshfield, Webster Co. in 1861 and they later settled in Taney Co. Also would like any information on the Selvage/Selvidges who settled around Marshfield in the early 1840 to 1870.

Looking for information on my grandmother and grandfather. Her name is Lida Annabelle Burke and she was born near Branson, MO. My grandfather, Benjamin Atwood Johnson, met her there. I do not know anything about her family and very little about his, except that he may have had a father named Benjamin and a brother named John that was shot in the back. He also had a sister named Ruth. My grandmother's name could possibly be Anna Lidabelle Burke as well. She was born in the late 1800s about 1898, I think in Oct or Nov. My grandfather was born a month apart from her.
