I, James M. Wright of the County of Pettis and the State of Missouri being of sound mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament.

1st I desire that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid.

2nd I give and bequeath to the children of my Uncle Hoard (?) Coffman of the state of Virginia the sum of fifty dollars each.

3rd I give and bequeath to my step mother Martha Wright the sum of fifty dollars.

4th I give and bequeath to my nephew Spencer N Colmes son of Spencer & Elizabeth Colmes the sum of five hundred dollars and I desire that Albion Roberson hold said sum in trust for said nephew until he shall have attained the age of twenty one years, his giving security for the faithful performance of said trust, and that he loan said sum of money at the best interest he can obtain such interest to be applied to the support and education of my said nephew during his minority.

5th I desire that neat suitable grave stones be put up at my grave and those of my deceased Father and Mother & Brother Joseph and also a good paling fence around the same. The expenses of all which to be paid out of my estate.

6th I give and bequeath to my step Brothers Alford Herolon (?) Steele and Robert Baxter Steele the sum of forty dollars each.

7th I give and bequeath to my sister Elizabeth Colmes and Spencer N Colmes her husband all the ballance of my estate both real and personal.

And lastly I appoint Reece Hughes my executor of this my will and testament.

Given under my hand and seal this 4th day of August 1854.

The affiants Watson Wood, Wm Ferguson, Harvey Maxwell being sworn state that they signed their names as witnesses to the above will in the presence of the testator and that he acknowledged the same in our presence as his last will and testament and that he was of sound mind as the time of his making said acknowledgement.

The last will and testament of James M Wright dec'd was this day produced before the court and it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the same is fully proven by the testimony of Watson Wood, Wm Ferguson, Harvey Maxwell the subscribing witnesses thereto said last will is admitted to probate and ordered to be recorded.

In testimony whereof I R.R. Spedden Clerk of the County Court within and of said County of Pettis have hereto set my hand & affixed the seal of said Court at Office in Georgetown this __ day of ___ __ ____. R R Spedden, Clk
