Cecil S. Kessler Sr., 88, St. Joseph, passed from this life on Saturday, April 24, 2010, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born May 4, 1921, in Easton, Mo., to Jacob and Agnes (Waller) Kessler. Cecil was a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Cadet Academy at University of Missouri, Columbia, Mo. He was a World War II veteran. Cecil served as Flight Engineer and Top Turret Gunner in the 15th AAF, 455th Bomb Group, 740th Bomb Squadron at San Giovanni, Italy in 1945. He participated in the EAME Theater. His campaigns included North Apennines, Po Valley, Rhineland, and Central Europe. Cecil received the Air Medal, Good Conduct, and EAME Medal. Cecil married Peggy Trail on May 28, 1944, in St. Joseph and she preceded him in death on August 13, 2006 . . .
