OBITUARY.
Died — at his late residence in King City, December 22nd, 1893, Mr. Joseph Carson.
Deceased was born in Rockcastle county, Kentucky, December 12th, 1812. He was married to Margaret Montgomery May 3rd, 1838; moved to Missouri in 1842; in 1841 he moved to a farm in Andrew county, where he lived until 1891, when he moved to King City. To Mr. and Mrs. Carson seven children were born, when deatb, on April 11th, 1854, called the wife and mother to the world beyond. On October 14th, 1800, Mr. Carson was married to Mrs. Sophia Mitchell. To this union were born five children. Some ten years ago Mrs. Carson bade adieu to husband and children and passed across the river of Death.
“Uncle Joe,” as Mr. Carson was familiary called, was a man of exemplary habits, beloved by all and lived a devoted christian life. He had been a member of the Christian church for many years. As life’s lamp dimmed, the light of faith and Christ-love seemed to brighten and as earth’s cares were laid aside, the spirit rested in the arms of a Savior’s love and drank of the joys of the glory world.
On December 23rd, the remains were taken to Savannah and funeral services were conducted in the Christian church by Elder Dew, after which, to the silent grave, in the Savannah cemetery consigned all that was mortal of the departed.
