World War I

Roy Emmette Mahin, was born on August 28, 1895, in La Monte, Pettis County, Missouri, died on December 27, 1917, from disease during World War I in France, at age 22, and was brought home to Knob Noster Cemetey, Knob Noster, Johnson County, Missouri, for burial on October 17, 1920.

He was in the 115th Aero Sq. Sig. U.S.A. Roy had been in France for 22 days before his death from diffuse hypernephromatosis. The death notice was sent to his father, Scott Mahin, in LaMonte, Pettis County, Missouri.

After his father brought him home, he was buried next to his mother, Laura E. Dorrance, in Knob Noster Cemetery, Johnson County, Missouri. His grandparents were Mary J. Ham and Isaac Randolph Dorrance of Pettis County. Besides his father, he was survived by his brother, Guy Wilbur Mahin, of La Monte, Pettis County, Missouri.
