W. W. Ritchey Dead

Yesterday the news reached this city that Mr. W.W. Ritchey, father of Deputy Sheriff Ritchey, died last Wednesday in St. Clair county, whither he had gone on a visit a few days before. The report is that he died of congestive chills.

The deceased was some 56 or 57 years old, resided three miles south of this city on the Marshall farm, and was universally esteemed as a good citizen, a kind father and an honest man.

His son, Capt. Ritchey, left yesterday for St Clair, but could not tell whether the remains would be buried there, or brought here to be placed by the side of his wife, who died a few years since.

In the death of Mr. Ritchey, his children have lost a kind considerate father, society one of its best and most honored members, and his acquaintances a trusted friend.
