Colorado Cemetery
Pettis County, Missouri
A cousin of mine talked to a farmer who owns the property on which Colorado Cemetery (a black cemetery) is located. It is west of U.S. 65. We took Trickum Road to Tedieville Road. The farmer, his last name is Cornine (don't remember his first name) took us on a path extending south from the intersection of Trickum and Tedieville. We went for awhile, crossed a creek, and then eventually stopped in a field where he was bailing hay. He took us a few steps into the woods and there was an old tombstone there. He told us that several tombstones were in that area. There was some yucca under one of the trees not too far from where we were standing. He said there was a stone there, but we didn't go that far in. There is poison ivy growing in that area. (Justin Watkins 2009)
