To make way for the rapidly extending suburban extension of the city, the old Sallee family burying ground located near what is to be Bartlett park, was moved Saturday. The burial ground was started by William Sallee, a pioneer citizen, who died about a month ago. The remains of three of his children were taken up Saturday and with the body of the father, which had been lying in the Oakland cemetery vault since his death, were interred in Oakland cemetery.
One body was that of John R. Sallee, the 12 year old son of William Sallee, which was interred in the family burying ground more than thirty-five years ago. The bodies of two smaller children were placed in the same burying ground more than forty years ago.
