I am looking for information on the parents and brothers and sisters of Josephus Loring TOTTEN, (4-30-1836 to 4-6-1902). He came from Orange County, New York and settled on a farm in the Hew Hope Church area. Josephus married Almira C. Ott (1850-1889) I believe from limited records in the Totten family Bible that his father was possibly Samuel Totten 1891-1862 or Edward Totten 1790-1876. I believe that his grandfather was James Totten 1762-1841. I have several names taken out of the family Bible listed between Samuel, Edward and James until Josephus. I would like info that will show me how to correctly connect these names to Josephus. Josephus never left DeKalb County after he came. Josephus and Almira are buried in the Amity Cemetery.
I am also looking for information on William GRIMES 1862-1932 who married Anna Williams 1864-1920. Anna is believed to be a direct descendant of William Penn. I would appreciate any info on Elizabeth Rebecca OSBORN, about her family history, parents and bro/sist. She was my grandmother.
My few family records and memory indicate she was born in town of Cameron, MO [Cameron is just over the border into Clinton County - ed] April 13, 1881; Married: Arthur F. Felt of Pipe Creek, KS July 1902 at Kansas City, MO. Moved to Silom Springs, Arkansas in 19xx, and then to New Orleans, LA in 1921, where they lived until she passed away in 1970.
My father told me that his grandmother (Elizabeth's mother) was possibly a STEELE, and that his mother had three brothers and a sister: twins who lived in NY and one named Ollie (in Texas), and a sister (in Chicago).
Any help with the OSBORN or Steele family geneology of Cameron or DeKalb County would be deeply appreciated.

His wife was Jane CREAND? of Kentucky. Children listed are:

My great-grandmother, Jennie Dee Eisiminger (1878-1930), was married to a SPRINGSTEAD and living in Clarksdale, DeKalb Co., MO in 1923. This was a brief marriage, which possibly ended in divorce. I would like to hear from anyone in the SPRINGSTEAD family who might have information on which one married "Dee". She came from Andrew Co. and lived sometimes in St. Joseph.

I am searching for information on my Ancestor Greenfield MATHEWS (also under MATHIS in one census). Greenfield MATHEWS appears on the 1850 U.S. census in DeKalb County MO, with his wife Hannah and seven Children. I have been unable to locate him after 1850. His wife Hannah appears on the 1870 census in Daviess county with her son and his wife. I need to find out exactly when Greenfield died and where he is buried. so that I may locate death records and find his parents.
I am a descendant through his son Francis Marion Mathews Union soldier 1st Calvary MO. (I have his pension file). Any information on this family is valuable to me. Thank you! Ilene
If you are using the two books by Roselie C.
Smith on this Smith family, for your lineage, use with care.
The early information of Yorkshire, England has been found to be questionable. The Hopewell, NJ (1677 - 1735) lineage for the progenitor of Anderson Smith, Sr. and Jr., which was given is wrong. The Rowan Co. NC, lineage also has errors.
If interested in corrected documented information please contact me.
