Edward S. Jones, 86, St. Joseph, passed away Monday January 10, 2011 at a Cameron, MO hospital. Edward was born March 18, 1924 to J.W. (John) and Nellie Jones at the Maplehurst Farm south of St. Joseph, MO. He graduated from Benton High School in 1942. Edward attended Agricultural College 1946 to 1947 and was a 1965 graduate of St. Joseph Junior College. In Edwards early years he worked on the family farm. He later worked for Swift and Company then Continental Can where he retired after 20 years as their traffic manager and warehouseman. An Army veteran of WWII, part of his tour of duty was in Korea. His hobbies included, hunting, fishing, collecting model cars, dancing, music, travel and antiques. Edward is remembered for his mechanical ability, story telling and jokes. He was a member of the Sodance Club, Ashland Avenue Methodist Church and the American Legion Post 359 . . .
