SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME FIND MY FAMILY. Hi, my name is karen and I need your help. My great-greatgrandmother was Luvinia Metcalfe. She was born in England sometime between 1840-1850. She married William Wriggleswroth in England in 1871. They came to America in February 1873 to the state of Wisconsin. They moved to Amelia county in 1891. They had 8 children. One of the boys William Wrigglesworth (Billy) was superintendent of schools in Blackstone Va. He was well loved and the school named their ball park after him. His brother Walter (my great grandfather) worked for the Norfold Wester railroad as a fireman bringing coal out of the mines in Page and taking it to Roanoke. He met and married Anna Barbara Stengel who played the organ at church held in the Amelia County Courthouse in 1904. Her family owned a sawmill there in Amelia County, made bricks and were builders. Both the Stengel and Wrigglesworth families had slaves when they came to Amelia county. The slaves wanted to stay with the Stengel family and were paid a salary and remained with them until they died. Walter and Barbara moved to Arkansas in 1918 but I am sure there were still her parents and his who remained in Amelia county. It is her family I have tried so hard to trace and have no leads. I know the Stengel Family came from Germany and were in Michigan before moving to Amelia County. Anna Barbara's Parents were George and Rosa Stengel. I had a lead that her fathers full name was John George Stengel but may be spelled differently. I have no maiden name for her mother. This is all the information I have on this family except that Lavinia Metcalfe Wrigglesworth and her son are burried in a family plot at Moores church cemetary. If anyone has any information on this family, please, please email me. Thank you, Karen Scurggs
