Fay E. Deatherage, 90, of Independence, MO, passed away February 11, 2003, at the Independence Health Care Center. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, February 14, at George C. Carson and Sons Chapel, Independence, MO. Burial in the Ebenezer Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the chapel. Contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Independence, MO. Fay was born February 17, 1912 at Garretsburg, MO, to Charles and Fannie E. Barton Modrell. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a member of the Good Samaritan Circle of the church. She was married to Leroy Deatherage; he preceded her in death. She is survived by daughter, Sherry Morrison, Independence, MO; son, Carl L. Deatherage, Westwood, KS; grandson, Steven W. Morrison, Kansas City, MO and granddaughter, Melanie L. Morrison, Independence, MO.
