Services for Walter L. Daffron Jr., a survivor of the Bataan Death March, will be at 1:30 Wednesday in the chapel of the H.O. Sidenfaden & Son mortuary. The Rev. William Walter will officiate. There will be a military graveside service at Memorial park cemetery, under the auspices of Weeden A. Petree Post, American Legion. A rosary will be recited in the Sidenfaden parlors at 8 tonight.
Active pallbearers include Ethan Campbell, a survivor of the Death March, Billie Daffron, Gerald Bodde, Leslie Abersol, Finley Fiske and Claude Hall.
Six of the Bataan Death March survivors who will serve as honorary pallbearers will be Judge William Allen, Kansas City; Clelan Dewey, Michael Schultz, Frank Knapp, John Riley and Ralph L. Parker.
Mr. Daffron, credit manager of Townsend & Wall Co.; died unexpectedly Sunday night at his home, 2810 Duncan street, following a heart attack. He long had been active in Boy Scout work here.
