Herman Adkins, 84, died early Sunday morning at a St. Joseph hospital.
Born in St. Joseph, he had resided in Camdenton, Mo., before returning to St. Joseph in 1984.
Mr. Adkins was preceded in death by his wife, Anne B. Adkins, on Oct. 12. A pilot for the FAA, he was a member of the Pilots Organization and the OX5 Pioneer Aviation Club of America.
Mr. Adkins also was a member of the Laurie, Mo., Baptist Church, the Quiet Birdmen and Versailles Masonic Lodge 320.
Surviving are two sisters, Charlinn Brown, St. Joseph, and Mildred Field, Savannah, Mo; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and nine nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. The body has been cremated and there will be no visitation.
